So when you want to find out more about mine craft you want to head to YouTube to check out what people have posted. Then you come across mini videos like Just so you know, Goodbye and Cold as Ice and then your ear drums are given a shock of musical genius. With MILLIONS of YouTube views Blacklite District has killed social media with their songs going along with MineCraft videos. People from all over the world are watching and digging their music, the had time during their busy schedule to have a chat with me at Nicks Pub in Eugene Oregon.

EE: Thank for taking the time to meet and chat with me

BLD: No Problem man I appreciate the coverage.

EE: So how is it touring with FLAW?

BLD: Touring with FLAW has been awesome, they have such dedicated hardcore fans that have been seeing them over the last twenty years its been Awesome to see an organic build like that and they scratched and clawed their way up to this point and Nothing but RESPECT for them GUYS!!

EE: So why don’t you tell me about your music influences growing up in South Dakota?

BLD: First and foremost Ozzy is what really got me into music but before that Fleetwood Mac my grandma had like a VHS tape I loved watching Mick Fleetwood his eyes going all crazy. Then I heard Ozzy’s No More Tears and got obsessed, and thought this guy is fucking crazy, then Motley Crue, Metallica and so on.

EE: How did you get introduced into the music industry?

BLD:we jam a lot in the Black Hills in South Dakota, just trying to build a local scene and i happen to meet this producer named Steven Short and he worked with Queen and Paul McCartney and stuff like that we went and did a meeting with him in L.A. then a few months later we were in a little town called Torneo, Texas in a studio called Sonic Ranch and cut our first Ep.
Then we went to Florida and did another album with producer Bret Hesla and SirusXm Octane radio started playing two of our songs and we sold a bunch of records.

EE: What have you been doing to the last five years since then?

BLD: We had a year and a half off where we didn’t put out any music or anything because of the label and manager we were working with got greedy killed all of our momentum and things like that. Its taking a long time to get out of these contracts that we just signed when we were just kids really I was on national radio we pretty much signed anything. It’s a live a learn experience. We have our own studio and do all our own producing. And perfecting our craft

EE: who would you want to tour with

BLD: Guns N Roses not in this life time tour, or the last Ozzy tour

EE: What was your first concert?

BLD: ZZ Top in Sturgis

EE: Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your younger self?

BLD: That’s  a good question, don’t sign the contract, just kidding but seriously, SLOW DOWN.

EE: If you could pick any label to be on who would you go with?

BLD: Ooo that’s kind of a double edged sword, part of me doesn’t want to be on a label again with the YouTube hits and social media I mean fifty million plus hits world-wide and im selling double what the number one rock hits on the radio are doing it by myself. No, I don’t see the benefit of doing it. But on the other side of it there are tours, and movie sounds tracks. But if I had to choose I would make a hip hop on Interscope

EE: You just dropped a new video

BLD: Yes we did today actually its called Goodbye. We have another version that is animated but this is the actual video, and I have to hand it to YouTube it has been a biggest platform because of the Minecraft videos.

EE: whats your biggest goal for 2018

BLD: I’m glad you asked that, I want to hit one hundred million YouTube views total.

EE: I know you have sound check coming up but one last question.

BLD: Sure

EE: Star Wars or Star Trek?

BLD: Star Trek because of star trek the next generation because of my grandpa.
