Code Orange: Out For Blood Baltimore Show Review
Ohh there will be blood.Yes there will be blood.
Code Orange came into Baltimore on their Out For Blood tour bringing with them Dying Wish, Vended, And Loathe.
Dying Wish opened the night. I missed the opportunity to see them at BlueRidge Festival last year. I wasn’t missing them this time. From Portland Dying Wish is fucking heavy. Singer Emma Boster is a beast on the vocals. This band makes you want to punch babies and then punch yourself for punching a baby. With songs like “Cowards Feed, Cowards Bleed”, “Enemies in Red”, and “Now You’ll Rot”. Dying wish could be on your radar if they aren’t already.
Vended was up next. This was another band I’ve been wanting and eager to see. Of course most people know Vended as being the sons of Slipknots Corey and Shawn, but let me tell you Vended doesn’t need any help. Griffins voice is pure energy and puts on a hell of a show. With songs like “Burn My Misery”, “DED to Me” and “Antibody”, Vended is exactly what is needed for this next generation of metal bands. Vended is here and they are in your face.
Loathe was next up. I haven’t heard of this band before learning about this show. Loathe is from UK and bring a l Kurt aspect to the genre. Singer Kadeem France gets the crowd going. The lighting was all reds which made it hard to photograph but the crowd and the fans were really into them. Songs like “Red Room”, “Dance of my Skin” and “Gored”.
Pittsburgh’s Code Orange were the headliners. This was another band that I have wanted to see for a while and been having a huge buzz around them. Led by singer Jami Morgan and Guitarist/Vocalist Reba Meyers. Code Orange says they are out for blood and there was some. Fans were all over the venue. Coming onstage and the jumping into the crowd while doing flips and spins. This was a fun but tough show to photograph. With songs like “Out For Blood”, “Cold,Metal,Place”, “Bleeding in the Blur”, and “Swallowing the rabbit whole”.
Code Orange goes from industrial at times to straight up fuck you up hardcore. 2 time Grammy Nominated Code Orange is paving the way for the new generation of music.
If you love your music hard, fast, and balls to the wall in your face, this is the tour for you.

DEVILSKIN “Barracuda”
Anyone who knows me, knows I have a huge soft spot for the band “Heart”. Of course Barracuda is an amazing song and has been covered by other artists before and when it comes to those covers I’m very critical to the vocals, nobody can touch Ann Wilson’s vocals on that track but I always love to hear a great cover.
New Zealand’s DevilSkin cover is one of those that I feel is a top tier cover. Vocalist JENNIE SKULANDER has an amazing voice and I feel that it works very well to this song. I love the heavy ending to the song, it gave it that heavy edge to it that most covers of the song don’t have.
If you’re a fan of the song, I would highly recommend checking out the video and giving this cover a listen.

Collective Soul “7EVEN YEAR ITCH” Greatest Hits 1994-2001 Vinyl
I’ve always been a big fan of Collective Soul and have been lucky to have seen them a few times. This band has always been in my music mixes since the 1990s.
The vinyl release is exactly what you would want for a greatest-hits album. All the best songs that collective soul had from 1994–2001 If you were a teenager or an adult in the 90s, you can’t tell me that you didn’t jam out to songs like “Shine,” “Gel,” and “December.”
With other great songs like “Heavy,” “Run,” “The World I Know,” and “Forgiveness,” This greatest hit album sounds amazing on vinyl as well. Craft Recordings has done a really great job of keeping the magic and sound of these amazing songs.
The sleeve cover has some cool photos of the band throughout the years. This vinyl just came out in Collective Soul fashion in December, and is ready to be part of your vinyl collection, and just brings you back to a great time in life.

Otep – Hydra 10th Anniversary Vinyl
I received a copy of the album, and when I first opened it, the artwork struck me first. Otep has always been a great visual artist, with her amazing drawings and characters. I even have one of them tattooed on myself. When you see the artwork on this vinyl release, you will really be drawn in and appreciate the artistry.
The sound of this vinyl is amazing. It’s been years since I’ve listened to anything on vinyl and forgot how much I loved the sound of the medium compared to CDs and digital releases. I love the songs on this album because, as with all Otep albums, it has such raw power and emotions, mixed with the anger and beauty of Otep’s poetry. Otep is one of the greats.
The album starts off with the track “Rising,” and this initial song sets the tone for what you’re about to hear from the balance of the album. The standout tracks on this album have to be “Necromantic,” “Apex Predator,” “Voyeur,” and “Feral Game.” Over all, the album as a complete piece of art is amazing. I would encourage you, if you’re a fan of Otep or a collector of vinyl, to add this vinyl to your collection.
