Long ago, in a galaxy far away, there was a concert. Actually, it wasn’t that long ago, it was Monday, and it wasn’t in a galaxy far away, it was in Millvale, Pa.

However, the band that took the stage was indeed out of this world. Galactic Empire, a group that is made up of a band of bad guys, took the stage at Mr. Smalls Funhouse on the closing stop of the I’ve Got A Bad Feeling About This Tour, which they co-headlined with the other well-known band o’ characters, Mac Sabbath. The band is made up of five menaces. Dark Vader, Boba Sett, Bass Commander, Red Guard, and their newest member, Kyle Ren. Yes, these names are very similar to those other guys in that George Lucas franchise, but I assure you, they are not the same.

In all seriousness though, these guys brought their instrumental skills to the extreme, playing all the favorites from the Star Wars franchise, including but not limited to The Cantina, The Imperial March, and The title song that started it all. In between, they had theatrical interludes, such as trying to start-up the death star, searching for rebel scum, and even using the force choke on an unsuspecting rebel. Needless to say, despite committing some pretty heinous crimes in their days, they all had the crowd leaning a little closer to the dark side.

Ashes to Omens “Feed Me More”

Ashes To Omens are a band from Georgia who’s latest single “Feed Me More” has a great sound to it. It reminds me of bands around the mid to late 2000s. They have a good mixture of sound. The song is a perfect blend of hard rock and metal with the vocals very crisp and delivered with passion.

The song “Feed Me More” has a great melody and works well with the bands style and genre of music. It also is a great title to a song because after listening to it I wanted more of the band.

Some will say that it’s very radio rock/metal and sometimes I do have issues with that but I felt that this song even though it does have that feel to it, isn’t just a radio rock song for the sake of being a radio rock song. I think this single is worth a listen to and could possibly be a track that might make your playlist.

DEVILSKIN “Barracuda”

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a huge soft spot for the band “Heart”. Of course Barracuda is an amazing song and has been covered by other artists before and when it comes to those covers I’m very critical to the vocals, nobody can touch Ann Wilson’s vocals on that track but I always love to hear a great cover.
New Zealand’s DevilSkin cover is one of those that I feel is a top tier cover. Vocalist JENNIE SKULANDER has an amazing voice and I feel that it works very well to this song. I love the heavy ending to the song, it gave it that heavy edge to it that most covers of the song don’t have.
If you’re a fan of the song, I would highly recommend checking out the video and giving this cover a listen.

Collective Soul “7EVEN YEAR ITCH” Greatest Hits 1994-2001 Vinyl

I’ve always been a big fan of Collective Soul and have been lucky to have seen them a few times. This band has always been in my music mixes since the 1990s.

The vinyl release is exactly what you would want for a greatest-hits album. All the best songs that collective soul had from 1994–2001 If you were a teenager or an adult in the 90s, you can’t tell me that you didn’t jam out to songs like “Shine,” “Gel,” and “December.”

With other great songs like “Heavy,” “Run,” “The World I Know,” and “Forgiveness,” This greatest hit album sounds amazing on vinyl as well. Craft Recordings has done a really great job of keeping the magic and sound of these amazing songs.

The sleeve cover has some cool photos of the band throughout the years. This vinyl just came out in Collective Soul fashion in December, and is ready to be part of your vinyl collection, and just brings you back to a great time in life.
