Interview with Another Day Dawns
ANOTHER DAY DAWNS is an upcoming band from around the Allentown PA area, who is on a little tour with BuckCherry. While they stopped into Baltimore for the first time I got to sit down and talk to the guys about playing on this tour and what’s in the future for this kick ass band.
EE: Hows the tour going do far?
ADD: This is our first night, but their crew is so nice to us.
EE: Have you played with BuckCherry before?
ADD: Yeah, we opened for them a few years ago at the Sherman Theater.
EE: You guys are from Allentown area, how’s the music scene there?
ADD: The bands that are in the area are very amazing and show us much love. We started off playing covers and then went to playing all originals. There’s a lot of cover bands in our area, more further out like Scranton area bigger bands have come out.
EE: How did the band name come around?
ADD: Originally we were ADD, back when we were a cove band and we didn’t want to lose the following so we made it mean something and just decided in Another Day Dawns.
EE: I seen you guys have played with a bunch of cool bands, who’s been your favorite?
ADD: Winery Dogs was cool, we are close with Mike Portnoy, he came on stage with us and played. We up in Hampton Beach with Avatar, that was great, they chilled with us.
EE: If you could tour with any band who would you want to tour with?
ADD: Seether would be cool to tour with, Foo Fighters would be awesome. Maybe Slipknot would be great too.
EE: If you could bring one dead musician who would it be?
ADD: Dimebag…. Also any of the 90s guys like Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland.
EE: You guys working on any new albums or EP’s?
ADD: We are working on another 5 song EP. it’s heavy. I think the fans will like it. We also have a guest vocalist that will be on it, I can’t say who it is now but it’s gonna be huge. This will spin us around. We are looking around Nov/Dec to drop the EP.
EE: Any other shows booked for you guys?
ADD: we are playing Musik Fest in Bethlehem Pa. we have played their before with Godsmack, it’s a cool festival. We will be announcing soon another tour in October/November.
Another Day Dawns put on a hell of a show, the just recently had a bassist change up, but wouldn’t be able to tell, they sounded so well together. I kind of Imagined them especially with singer Dakota on vocals as a heavier and more bad ass version of Pearl Jam. The set was amazing and can’t wait to see them play again.
