Empire Extreme got to do a phone interview a few months ago with LILIAC, the highly entertaining and super awesome band from LA. They are now on tour in the east coast and Empire Extreme got to sit down with the gang and talk about traveling from the west coast and exciting news up for Liliac.

EE: Are you guys excited about being on the east coast?

Liliac: Yeah. It’s very different over here.

EE: Did you drive from California?

Liliac: Yeah, we had a show in Oregon and Washington and the drove from there to Pennsylvania. It was a long ride, like 3 days.

EE: So I heard that you guys just got added to the Kiss Kruise.

Liliac: yes we are so excited, this is our first time on a cruise and first time seeing Kiss also.

EE: You guys working on the new album?

Liliac: yes, we have our kickstarter up for it, we have been working on it and recording and working on lyrics.

EE: Have you guys had any of the bands that you’ve done covers for talk to you about them?

Liliac: Yeah, when we did Dio’s Rainbow in the Dark, we had his son contact us and said that he appreciated the cover we did. Vinnie Appice told us that he loved it.

EE: Have you guys thought of doing anymore covers or anything?

Liliac: There’s going to be some new cover videos coming out soon. We are currently working on one right now that’s going to be really awesome but can’t say what it is yet.

EE: Are you guys going to hit up any tourist stuff while you’re on the east coast?

Liliac: We are going to see the Statue of Liberty while in NY, and we want to go to Disney World while we are in Florida.

Liliac was awesome in concert, each member of the family is so great at putting on a show and playing their instruments. Sam shreds on the guitar and it’s just killer to watch him play. Aby on drums is so bad ass, she’s so fun to watch as she sings along with the songs and makes her faces while playing the kit like a pro. Melody’s Voice is so stellar, not just for the covers but the originals as well, such a unique and amazing voice and her Dio is just as as amazing and Ronnie’s was. Ethan was on bass for this tour instead of guitar but he rocked it showing that he can master both instruments, and Justin on the keys is such a fun time watching him rock out to the songs and kill it on the keyboard.

Liliac played covers like “Enter Sandman” “Crazy Train” “We will rock you/We are the Champions” and of course “ Rainbow in the Dark”. Liliac also played original songs like “Not Afraid” “Mythical Creatures” and “Chain of Thorns”. I can’t wait to see them come back to the east coast again and I know that this band will be huge.
