Interview with Stitched Up Heart

Ron

Stitched Up Heart is now on tour with Wilson, Through Fire and Like a Storm. Empire Extreme got to sit down with singer Alecia “Mixi” Demner about the tour life.

EE: How are you liking the tour so far with the Like a Storm guys?

Mixi: It’s been super chill, it’s be a really easy going tour. Everybody has positive energy, everyone has been really nice to us.

EE: How’s the tour different from the last tour you did with Like a Storm?

Mixi: Yeah when we toured with them in 2015, we just put out the record and we were super nervous because we didn’t know anybody. It’s like joining a new school. I was scared to meet anyone. Then being on the road you get to know them better.

EE: How was it like working with Sully on the “Lost” song?

Mixi: It took a couple of month for it to come all together. We had the idea to do it, and eventually got enough guts to ask him again and he said yeah it just has to be the right song. We finished the record and I was like what about “Lost” there’s a good breakdown in that. He loved it then trying to get him into the studio to do it. I flew out to Nashville to them. It was at a random house because the studio wasn’t up and ready yet.

EE: What can fans expect from the new album?

Mixi: I think the stuff we released already sounds most like the album, but there’s a few other songs on there that explore. It took about 70 songs to finally narrow it down to the 13 songs that are on the album. We mostly just did the songs that we wrote last, so there’s like 60 songs that may never seen the light of the day.

EE: What’s been your favorite tour so far?

Mixi: I’m going to say Godsmack. Just being in arenas is crazy and I’ve had those dreams since I was a little girl of running from one side of the stage to the other and it happened on that tour, I had to start doing cardio because I was always winded (Laughs) to Perform to that many people

EE: What would be your Dream tour?

Mixi: Korn, Metallica and Nine Inch Nails, and we would headline (laughs) Korn was the first posters on my wall as a kid. Korn would be amazing maybe Papa Roach or Shinedown.

EE: If you could bring back one dead musician who would it be?

Mixi: Marilyn Monroe is the first one that comes to my mind, she’s a singer and artist. She always spoke her mind, and she was sexy as hell. Bring her back (Laughs)

Stitched Up Heart opened the show and killed it, this was my first time seeing the band play and loved every minute of it, such passion and emotions left on that stage. Opening up with “This Skin” and ending with “Lost” which singer Grant Kendrick from Through Fire came out to sing with them.
Wilson played right after and this band is fun, loud and kick ass. This was my first time seeing Wilson and I loved it. Singer Chad Nicefield is a great frontman with such energy and stage presence. Through Fire and Like a Storm also killed it on the stage as well. I loved the stage prop didgeridoo that had skeletons on them for Like a Storm, nothing like bringing tribal and cultural music and instruments to a rock concert.
