Twiztid running Warped Tour like a pro

The last year of Warped Tour and the dynamic duo of Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child better known as Twiztid invaded cities all tour long. Empire Extreme got to talk to Twiztid after their set.

Empire: How’s the Warped Tour going so far?

JM: So far so good. It’s been a pretty cool experience to play these bigger stages and reach more people. People are nearly forced to see us.

Drayven: And they give me beer.

JM: I give him my beer to, so it’s double beer for him.

EE: Do you feel that after leaving Psychopathic Records you’ve been able to branch out and do stuff like this?

JM: The best way to describe it is when we took a hold the reins of our horse, we pointed in our direction, we believe what we are doing is right. It’s like if you left a radio station to start your own and now you’re like “Doing it better than they did” you know what I’m saying.

Drayven: Ride that whores all the way. You did say whores right?

JM: Yeah I said whores. He’s got it recorded he can play it back.

EE: Do you guys like playing better with the live drums?

Drayven: Please say yes (Laughs)

JM: No I hate it, I will never have them again. (Laughs) I love it anything that makes it more organic to what we feel and adds to our sound.

EE: What’s been your favorite album of your career?

Mono: Abominationz.

JM: I don’t know they all have special reasons. Mostasteless was our first, Freakshow was the first time we came into our own, Wicked was the first album we were on the charts. They all like children, you can’t say you don’t like one over the other. I won’t pick. No.

EE: What about a favorite song?

JM: Damn it. No. I won’t pick. You’re really shovey. (Laughs) Can we get security over here.

EE: Are you excited about the Mutant Man movie since you’re name is based off the character from it?

JM: No. Everybody keeps asking me that but I believe in my own stupid mind, that we are the only reason that character has any draw, after we have been carrying it for over 20 years now marvel deicided  to put it on the screen.

EE: How was it like making the Born Twiztid Documentary?

JM: interesting and exciting. We were trying to take a campy feel to it. Some of it was based on truth sorta embellished.

EE: If you could bring back one dead musician who would it be?

Drayven: John Bonham

JM: I was gonna say Micheal Jackson but that would be more torture for him because people won’t leave him alone.

Mono: Martina Navratilova

Drayven: Bold Choice

JM: Frank Sinatra. Things were different when Frank was around you know 2..3..4.. He could break into singing anytime, that shit doesn’t happen anymore.

EE: What band would you like to see reunite?

JM: Alice In Chains.

Drayven: That be tricky.

JM: I would have to use my bring back one dead musician with Layne.

Mono: Ah man that’s tough, I got a great one. Dark Lotus.

JM: There you go (all laugh) Dark Lotus with me, mono, Layne and Frank Sinatra.

EE: You guys created a convention last year Astronomicon and have another one coming up next year?

JM: Yeah part 2, the first one was during a blizzard. We’re super amped about it. It’s family fun, more celebrities.
