Vixen the bad ass rock band from L.A. Came back into Baltimore to rock out once more at M3, this time bringing Lorraine Lewis (Femme Fatale) on Vocals. Empire Extreme got to sit down the ladies after the set and talk about the new editions and going forward.

EE: I loved the set, you all sounded amazing, I’ve seen the band a few times, but with a new face but still has that Vixen Vibe.

Vixen: That’s cool to hear, thank you.

EE: How did you enjoy the M3 experience?

Vixen: it felt great, we are a rock and roll family with M3 and Monsters of Rock Cruise, we look forward to seeing the crowd as much as they do us.

EE: Britt, you been done this fest twice now with vixen, how was it like going this iconic band?

Britt: Yeah M3 last time was one of my first few gigs, now I’ve gotten into the groove better.

EE: Now you’re no longer the new girl. Lorraine Hows it like being the new one now?

Lorraine: Yeah. They are hazing me, I can never find my underwear. We are just having fun it’s kind of like a slumber party when we all get together.

EE: You guys started off the set with a Femme Fatale song, are you going to incorporate those songs into sets?

Vixen: Yes, Lorraine brings some cool songs and we have the voice so we might as well do them. People are digging it, it’s an amazing vibe.

EE: How did it take you to get into that mindset of Vixen Songs?

Lorraine: First of all I’ve always loved Vixen. We were both coming out around the same time. The truth is when they asked me to join the band I was just so honored, excited and a little freaked out like holy shit can I really do this. It’s a lot of words and a lot of high notes. I would come home and just listen to those songs over and over again. I wanted to honor those songs. I think I’m doing that and still being me.

EE: Now that your in the band, would you ever do like at M3 a set for Vixen and then a set for Femme Fatale?

Lorraine: That’s an amazing idea but I will say for me, Femme Fatale we have had a great run, and I’m happy to have tied a nice purple bow on it and kiss it goodbye. I will always love the girls and they will always be family. It’s a new chapter now I’m all Vixen now.

EE: You guys are working on new material with Lorraine for a new Vixen album?

Vixen: Absolutely, look for it to come out sometime in 2020.

EE: Was there a tour that you loved the most throughout the years?

Vixen: So many we toured with Scorpions, Ozzy, Kiss, Deep Purple they were all so great.

EE: If you could bring back one musician from the dead who would it be?

Vixen: Lemmy, Jimi Hendrix, Jon Bonham, David Bowie.

Vixen put on a hell of a show at M3, proving once again that gender doesn’t ever beat good tunes. I cant wait to listen to the new album and see Vixen again soon. Check them out on www.vixenoffical.com for tour dates.

Oh what fun! To be a fledgling band sharing stadium stages with the years biggest tour featuring the icons of Def Leppard, legends of Motley Crue, the feel good rockers Poison and of course Joan Jett.

With a vintage sound that pulls equally from Led Zepplin and the LA metal scene Classless Act is poised to dominate your playlists and burst onto rock radio. Don’t let the dated references deter from joining the party, as this band is full of energy, personality, and most of all musical chops. Formed in 2019 the five piece released their debut album Welcome To The Show in June via Better Noise Music and are now living out the dream on every new band.

If you want to see real music played by real people get to the stadium early and catch Classless Act perform their energetic 18 minute set (not one minute more, not one minute less). They warmed up the crowd in Pittsburgh, PA this past weekend under the blazing sun. Below are some photos of their set.

Society 1 Takes On Second Lock-down Challenge

Sammy Hagar and his CIRCLE band mates are using the Coronavirus downtime to release new music and video calling it the “Lockdown Challenge” which developed quickly into the “Lockdown Sessions”. The four musicians connected via their smartphones from four separate locations to record a brand new song and covers.

Upon seeing Hagar’s continued output of material Society 1 frontman Matt Zane was fascinated by this new but hopefully temporary medium of music and video creation. Zane’s band mates Jimmy Minj (Bass), Johnny Pilz (Guitar) and Zhenya Pro (Drums) were once again on board and went to work.

“When else are you going to have chance to create in this way in these circumstances? Why not go for it, get creative and see what happens?” said Zane

Zane and his band members once again worked on ideas sharing them through video conferencing ultimately crafting a new song called “I Reach Through”.

“No studio, 100% recorded from home. No producer. We just gathered some unfinished ideas that were around, bounced some new ideas off each other and just did it. It’s so immediate from start to finish. Definitely a unique change of pace. “
