It’s 2021 and Concerts have returned. Tonight would be my return back into the clubs to enjoy what I love to do most. Today Empire Extreme got to sit down and talk to Waylon Reavis(A killer’s Confession, Ex-Mushroomhead) about life, liberty and the justice for all things rock.

EE: How are you doing today?

Waylon: I’m doing good, I found out that people in Baltimore can’t drive. No offense to the beautiful state of Maryland, but I’ve never seen a woman parked in the middle of the highway before. I hope I never see that again. There was also 3 accidents on the way.

EE: How’s the tour going with Gemini Syndrome?

Waylon: It’s going great, I’ve went  out with them on their first tour as Gemini,  when I was with Mushroomhead. I feel that we both have a good cosmic brotherhood. Gemini doesn’t sound like anyone and AKC doesn’t sound like anyone either.

EE: So 2020 was the year the music shows stopped, what did you do?

Waylon: I didn’t stop. Not because the pandemic and not because the government told me. You have to keep living. I know covid was real, my wife got covid. Yes you should wash your hands and if you don’t feel well don’t go to work. This is the stuff we should have learned when we was in kindergarten. I believe this was mishandled.. I’m not on either side but I have two eyes and I can see for myself. I feel if you don’t live your life to the fullest every single day, what’s the point. You can go out anytime you never know. Treat every day like a gift and living in fear doesn’t help.

EE: You have a song just about to debut with Chad from Mudvayne, How was that like working with him?

Waylon: That was awesome. A friend of mine Aimee hooked that up, she put Chad and I into contact. I feel that you guys will be floored when you hear it. “Tell Your Soul”.

EE: If you could take a song from A Killers Confession and put it in a time capsule and years later it’s discovered, what song would you want them to find?

Waylon: Numb. I want them to hear that one. It’s a real test to the human condition. I think numb summarizes what it’s all about.

EE: Fans know you from your time with Mushroomhead, how was joining the band after they have been established already?

Waylon: it was like being thrown to the sharks. Sink or swim. It was like the movie rockstar I went from a local band into that.

EE: I remembering seeing Mushroomhead at horrorhound convention how was that like doing the horror cons?

Waylon: Those things were awesome I met the Boondocks Saints there.  Norman, Sean and Rocco. When we went to RockNShock and I met Corey Haim. But I remember when the saints came out I was star struck. I’ve got the tattoos on my arm. They came on stage when we played. It was amazing.

EE: Anything you want to say to the fans?

Waylon: Thank you guys for supporting us.

A Killer’s Confession killed it on stage. Waylon sounds amazing and just takes control of that stage. The fans at the show were loving every minute and glad to be back at concerts.  The band sounds tight and just rocked the stage. If AKC is coming to your town, this is the band to see.
