Mac Sabbath Show Review
Mr. Smalls Pittsburgh Pa 3/12/18
Article and Photos by: Shelby Tyce
There was nothing fast about the twisted fast food characters that the crowd awaited this past Monday at Mr. Smalls.
Mac Sabbath, a band known for their parodies of Black Sabbath songs, mixed with their love for McDonald’s closed the final show of their I’ve Got A Bad Feeling About This Tour , which they co-headlined with the out of this world band, Galactic Empire, after a 45 minute set up of their theatrical effects and props. Nonetheless, the show went off with a bang, and the crazy mutated characters took the stage.
The lead vocalist, Ronald Osbourne, showed up on stage in a straight jacket, which eventually he worked out of to reveal a torn up clown suit similar to the beloved fast food clown, Ronald McDonald. Along with him came the other members on this strange concoction, Slayer MacCheeze, Grimalice, and Catburglar. Together they grilled their songs into the crowds brains, and by grill I mean quite literally, as there was a grill on the stage to bring special effects for Osbourne. Other special stage pieces included, condiment bottles filled with water, which Ronald used to spray the crowd with, two massive inflatable cheeseburgers to bounce around the venue, and Ronald’s iconic fast food cup mic stand. The band played some of the fans well-known favorites, including one of their newer songs “Pair-A-Buns” and their top hit “Frying Pan” a play on words to Black Sabbath’s song “Iron Man“. Needless to say, despite the long wait in the drive-thru I’m sure that the crowd was satisfied with their order and their meal.

Them Damn Kings “Shown With A Fist”
Them Damn Kings from NJ just released a new single “Shown With a Fist”.
If you like your music in your face with a touch of old school rock and roll this is the band for you. It’s got gritty vocals and pounding drums adding in some killer guitar shreds.
It’s a song that you listen to when you want to get into a bar fight or want to drive your car really fast down the highway.
It’s worth a listen, check out the lyric video below with a little bonus guitar mortal kombat shred off.

Ashes to Omens “Feed Me More”
Ashes To Omens are a band from Georgia who’s latest single “Feed Me More” has a great sound to it. It reminds me of bands around the mid to late 2000s. They have a good mixture of sound. The song is a perfect blend of hard rock and metal with the vocals very crisp and delivered with passion.
The song “Feed Me More” has a great melody and works well with the bands style and genre of music. It also is a great title to a song because after listening to it I wanted more of the band.
Some will say that it’s very radio rock/metal and sometimes I do have issues with that but I felt that this song even though it does have that feel to it, isn’t just a radio rock song for the sake of being a radio rock song. I think this single is worth a listen to and could possibly be a track that might make your playlist.

DEVILSKIN “Barracuda”
Anyone who knows me, knows I have a huge soft spot for the band “Heart”. Of course Barracuda is an amazing song and has been covered by other artists before and when it comes to those covers I’m very critical to the vocals, nobody can touch Ann Wilson’s vocals on that track but I always love to hear a great cover.
New Zealand’s DevilSkin cover is one of those that I feel is a top tier cover. Vocalist JENNIE SKULANDER has an amazing voice and I feel that it works very well to this song. I love the heavy ending to the song, it gave it that heavy edge to it that most covers of the song don’t have.
If you’re a fan of the song, I would highly recommend checking out the video and giving this cover a listen.
