Slash W/ Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators MD Show Review
Slash w/ Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators brought their wild rock and roll experience to the Filmore in SilverSpring MD bringing along with them Plush.
Plush opened up the show, this was my first time seeing this all female kick ass rock group. Led by singer/guitarist Moriah Formica, Bassist Ashley Suppa, Lead guitarist Bella Perron and drummer Brooke Colucci. Plush is a breath of fresh air to the next generation of rock and roll. Moriah has some amazing pipes on her. Plush played for about 30 minutes with songs like Athena, Better off Alone and Hate. Plush also did a cover of Heart’s Barracuda.
Slash and bands mates Myles Kennedy on vocals, Brent Fitz on Drums, Todd Kerns on Bass and Frank Sidoris on Guitar came out ready to rock the crowd for 2 hours. Myles sporting his jaws t-shirt and Slash with his Top Hat, Shades and a Rocky Horror T-Shirt put on a hell of a show.
Opening up with Driving Rain the band played a good mix of songs throughout the albums. Some Slash songs of the past as well like Speed Parade, Doctor Alibi (which Todd sang) and Nothing to say. The band also played Lenny Kravitz cover of Always on the Run and even Elton John’s Rocket Man which had drummer Brent playing the piano.
Off the latest album 4, they played C’est La Vie which had Slash using the Talk Box on it. For The One You Loved, Slash brought out the double guitar. During World of Fire, Myles did his band introductions which included about a 20 minute shred clinic by Slash(god this man can play till his fingers are on fire).
Ending the night off with Anastasia one of Slash’s guitar strings broke and just hung there while he’s shredding like nothing was wrong. This combination of the band makes for a really special band, if you haven’t had the chance to check them out I would highly recommend it, not only just for Slash but to witness all 5 musicians on stage, you can tell they really enjoy it and love playing for the crowd.

Ashes to Omens “Feed Me More”
Ashes To Omens are a band from Georgia who’s latest single “Feed Me More” has a great sound to it. It reminds me of bands around the mid to late 2000s. They have a good mixture of sound. The song is a perfect blend of hard rock and metal with the vocals very crisp and delivered with passion.
The song “Feed Me More” has a great melody and works well with the bands style and genre of music. It also is a great title to a song because after listening to it I wanted more of the band.
Some will say that it’s very radio rock/metal and sometimes I do have issues with that but I felt that this song even though it does have that feel to it, isn’t just a radio rock song for the sake of being a radio rock song. I think this single is worth a listen to and could possibly be a track that might make your playlist.

DEVILSKIN “Barracuda”
Anyone who knows me, knows I have a huge soft spot for the band “Heart”. Of course Barracuda is an amazing song and has been covered by other artists before and when it comes to those covers I’m very critical to the vocals, nobody can touch Ann Wilson’s vocals on that track but I always love to hear a great cover.
New Zealand’s DevilSkin cover is one of those that I feel is a top tier cover. Vocalist JENNIE SKULANDER has an amazing voice and I feel that it works very well to this song. I love the heavy ending to the song, it gave it that heavy edge to it that most covers of the song don’t have.
If you’re a fan of the song, I would highly recommend checking out the video and giving this cover a listen.

Collective Soul “7EVEN YEAR ITCH” Greatest Hits 1994-2001 Vinyl
I’ve always been a big fan of Collective Soul and have been lucky to have seen them a few times. This band has always been in my music mixes since the 1990s.
The vinyl release is exactly what you would want for a greatest-hits album. All the best songs that collective soul had from 1994–2001 If you were a teenager or an adult in the 90s, you can’t tell me that you didn’t jam out to songs like “Shine,” “Gel,” and “December.”
With other great songs like “Heavy,” “Run,” “The World I Know,” and “Forgiveness,” This greatest hit album sounds amazing on vinyl as well. Craft Recordings has done a really great job of keeping the magic and sound of these amazing songs.
The sleeve cover has some cool photos of the band throughout the years. This vinyl just came out in Collective Soul fashion in December, and is ready to be part of your vinyl collection, and just brings you back to a great time in life.
